CB Igualada’s women’s basketball team has secured a place in the Liga Femenina 2 promotion play-offs after an away win over Vedruna Gràcia, according to Regió 7. The result confirmed second place in the Super Copa Femenina for the Igualada side.
The match was tight in the first half, but Joan Albert Cuadrat’s team improved after the break and pulled clear. Vedruna Gràcia had also been in strong form in recent games, which made the result more significant for the Catalonia-based club.
Naia Puente and Aina Roqué led the scoring for CB Igualada. Puente finished with 16 points and Roqué added 14, helping to secure the win that booked the play-off spot.
The promotion phase will now be held in Jerez. CB Igualada will prepare for that next step as they look to move up to Liga Femenina 2.
