Catalonia has put major coordination measures in place this week as Barcelona hosts Pope Leo XIV's visit alongside university entrance exams and teacher protests, the Interior and Public Security Minister, Núria Parlon, said on Tuesday.

Parlon made the remarks during a visit to the Catalonia Operational Coordination Centre (CECAT), where she said the aim was to let all three events take place normally while reducing disruption to mobility and daily life.

"We have worked to ensure that all these activities can coexist normally, minimising impacts on mobility and guaranteeing the correct development of each one of them," she said.

The government said more than 5,600 Mossos d'Esquadra officers will take part in the ALBUS operation. The plan includes continuous coordination, specialist units and 24-hour activation to manage the simultaneous events across the region.
