Barcelona, the Catalan Parliament’s Bureau has unanimously agreed to replace the chamber’s secretary general, Albert Capelleras, and chief lawyer, Miquel Palomares, on 27 May 2026. Parliamentary sources said the decision is intended to give the institution new impetus.
Clara Marsan has been proposed to replace Capelleras as secretary general. Anna Casas will take over as chief lawyer, and she was already present at the Bureau meeting.
The changes were announced as approval of this year’s budget is considered almost certain, which would secure continuity for the legislature. The current parliamentary term is only a few weeks away from its halfway point.
