In Girona, Carlos Sainz has revisited the Els Àngels section of the Rally Catalunya-Costa Brava, nearly 40 years after competing there. This time, the rally driver completed the route by bicycle.

Sainz described the section as “very special” from his years in the event and said he remembers the route “perfectly”, according to an Instagram post. He also said the course remains “practically the same as it was then”.

He added that he was pleased to return and noted the good state of conservation of the surroundings. The visit offered a quieter look at a route closely linked to his racing career.

The Els Àngels section remains a familiar name for followers of Catalan motorsport. Sainz’s return underlines the lasting connection between the route, Girona, and the Rally Catalunya-Costa Brava.
