Roses was the setting for the fifth inter-centre SomparCC event, where more than 350 students from the Cap de Creus Natural Park network of schools and institutes came together at the Ciutadella de Roses.

The initiative is run by the Cap de Creus Natural Park and the Alt Empordà Educational Service. It is designed to connect children with the natural values of their surroundings and to strengthen environmental education in the classroom.

Using Cap de Creus as a living classroom, the programme includes activities, games and other actions aimed at raising awareness of local environmental care. One of these is Correcull, which combines physical activity with litter collection.

Students take part in hands-on learning that shows the impact of human activity on the natural environment. Organisers say the aim is to build a sense of responsibility from an early age and encourage active participation in conservation.

Looking ahead, the organisers plan to expand SomparCC to more schools within the park's reach. For more local coverage, see our news page and the latest updates from across Catalonia.
