Roses was the setting for the 5th inter-centre SomparCC conference, where Year 5 pupils from 13 educational centres in the Cap de Creus Natural Park network came together at the Ciutadella de Roses.
According to officials, the meeting was designed to help students share learning, strengthen ties between schools, and connect children with the environmental reality of their local area.
The conference centred on environmental education and the natural park. Its aim was to deepen pupils’ understanding of the area around them and encourage responsibility for protecting it.
The SomparCC initiative brings environmental education into the curriculum of schools located within or near the Cap de Creus Natural Park. By gathering students from different centres, the programme supports shared awareness of conservation and biodiversity in the region.
This year’s event built on previous gatherings and continued the network’s work with young residents. For more local news, see our news coverage.
