Hundreds of hikers gathered in El Pont de Suert, in Alta Ribagorça, this past weekend for the third edition of the Camin_art festival. The event brought together hiking, art and local heritage in the Catalan Pyrenees.
According to reports, participants followed routes through natural landscapes around the area and took in the scenery and terrain that define this part of the Pyrenees. The festival was designed to connect visitors with the local environment.
Camin_art focuses on hiking and art, and this year’s programme built on previous editions by attracting a large number of outdoor enthusiasts to the town. The event also highlighted the cultural and historical assets of local communities in Alta Ribagorça.
Organisers aim for the festival to support sustainable tourism and raise awareness of the natural and cultural value of the Pyrenean valleys. It also helps position El Pont de Suert as a destination for nature and heritage tourism in Catalonia.
The festival’s continued growth could support future editions with a broader programme and more visitors, while giving the local economy an added boost.
