Cadaqués, Girona, police arrested a repeat offender on Tuesday afternoon after a report of sexual assault on the seafront promenade. According to police sources, the man allegedly touched a young woman inappropriately before exposing himself and masturbating in front of her.
The woman managed to get away and alerted the Mossos d'Esquadra straight away. Officers opened an investigation and located the suspect within hours, then took him into custody.
The man has a history of similar offences and has been handed over to judicial authorities. He is expected to appear before a judge soon.
Cadaqués Town Council, along with several local organisations, issued a statement expressing its “most absolute condemnation” of the incident. They also offered support to the victim and called for community unity and cooperation to help protect residents in the municipality.
