Barcelona police have arrested eight people with a combined 141 prior police records in an operation against violent chain robberies. The arrests took place in Barcelona last Thursday, according to police sources cited by EFE.
The operation, called Kanpai Càtena, ran from 2pm to 11pm and covered Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sant Martí. Officers were deployed across these districts as part of the wider Kanpai Plan, which targets repeat offending.
Police also reported four other people who together had 105 prior offences. In addition, officers identified 52 people with a total of 661 previous records during the operation.
