Barcelona is hosting the European Space Agency’s Euclid mission annual meeting at the Saló de Cent on 26 May 2026. The city welcomed members of the mission as the international gathering began in the Catalan capital.
The meeting brings together about 600 participants from 200 scientific institutions worldwide. Jordi Valls, Barcelona’s Deputy Mayor for Economy, Housing, Finance, and Tourism, thanked the organisers for choosing the city and said the event projects Barcelona as a city committed to science, innovation, and research of excellence.
Over three days, the meeting is set to strengthen links between Barcelona’s scientific community and international researchers, including those from the European Space Agency. Officials expect the event to support the city’s profile in space science and research collaboration.
The Euclid mission, led by the ESA, studies dark energy and dark matter. Its annual meeting gives scientists a place to discuss progress, share findings, and plan the next stages of the research.
