Barcelona saw a record 50,000 participants in the 46th El Corte Inglés Race on Sunday morning, an increase of 10,000 runners compared to last year's event, according to organisers.

The 10-kilometre circuit remained unchanged, guiding runners through the city centre. The race started on Avinguda Diagonal and concluded in Plaça Catalunya, a route familiar to many who have taken part in previous editions.

Race Winners and Charitable Focus

Pol Espinosa secured victory in the men's category with a time of 29 minutes and 44 seconds. Sandra Sancho was the fastest woman, completing the course in 35 minutes and 33 seconds.

Beyond the competition, the race had a strong charitable element. All funds generated from the sale of the solidarity T-shirt will go directly to the Cruyff Foundation. This organisation uses sport as a learning opportunity and a way to drive change for children and young people with special needs.

The continued growth in participation for the El Corte Inglés Race shows its enduring popularity in Barcelona's sporting calendar. The event not only promotes physical activity but also supports important social causes through its fundraising efforts.
