Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni will present the city's first Anti-Racism Plan 2026-2036 on Monday, 18 May, at 12:30pm in the Saló de Cent at Barcelona City Hall.

The ten-year strategy aims to combat racial injustice and promote equality across the Catalan capital. This new plan represents a dedicated effort by the city council to address systemic issues and create a more inclusive environment for all residents.

City Leadership Against Racism

The presentation will include Maria Eugènia Gay, Deputy Mayor for Presidency, International Relations, Education, Health, Human Rights and Life Cycles, and Sara Belbeida, Councillor for Education, Neighbourhood Plan and Participation, according to Barcelona City Council officials. Their involvement shows the broad commitment within the local government to this long-term initiative.

The unveiling of the Anti-Racism Plan is part of the "Cities' Leadership for Racial Justice: Barcelona Forum 2026" conference. This event, organised by Barcelona City Council in collaboration with ECCAR (European Coalition of Cities against Racism) and UNESCO, will take place on 18 and 19 May.

Discussions and sessions for the forum are scheduled at Sala Moragues in El Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria, located at Plaça Comercial, 12. The forum provides a platform for cities to share strategies and best practices in the fight against racism, positioning Barcelona as a leader in this critical area.
