Manresa is hosting the 9th Bages Wine Fair, Fira Viba, this Saturday around the Pati del Casino. The event has stalls, tables, chairs and wooden barrels in place, creating a setting for visitors to sample local wines.

This year, the fair began earlier, at vermouth time, as a trial. In previous editions, it started in the evening. According to Regió 7, 14 wineries and seven winegrowers are presenting their varieties at the fair.

Fira Viba is aimed at promoting the wines of the Pla de Bages Designation of Origin. Visitors can taste wines directly from the producers, with the earlier start giving people more time to attend during the day.

The fair is part of the wider wine culture of the Bages area, where local producers and wine events help keep the region's wine identity visible. For readers following more local coverage, see our news page.

More information on the Pla de Bages Designation of Origin is available from the official DO Pla de Bages website. Regió 7 reported the fair's format and participation details.
