The AP-7 motorway in Santa Oliva, Penedès, was cut off to traffic on Tuesday morning, 21 April 2026, following an AP-7 accident involving a van and a lorry.

The collision occurred at approximately 7:30am at kilometre 215, affecting the Barcelona-bound carriageway, according to the Catalan Traffic Service. The lorry overturned and blocked all three lanes after a rear-end collision with the van.

As a result, vehicles travelling towards Barcelona are being diverted at the El Vendrell exit by the Catalan police, Mossos d'Esquadra. Alternative routes include the C-32 Pau Casals motorway and the N-340 road.

Nine fire crews from El Vendrell, Tarragona, Valls, Cambrils, and the Emergency Region were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters confirmed that the occupants of the lorry had managed to exit the vehicle safely. The Catalan Emergency Medical System (SEM) attended to three people at the site.

By 8am, the Catalan Traffic Service reported a tailback of approximately four kilometres. Officials indicated that the situation is expected to take several hours to normalise.
