The Alt Empordà region in Catalonia is preparing for an intense Cultural Week, offering a diverse programme of activities from 20 to 26 April.

According to Diari Catalunya, the week-long celebration will feature a wide array of events, including various reading clubs and engaging exhibitions. The initiative aims to promote local culture and literacy across the comarca, providing opportunities for community engagement and artistic appreciation.

Celebrating Catalan Culture

A significant part of the week's celebrations will focus on Sant Jordi, or Saint George's Day. This deeply cherished cultural observance in Catalonia, traditionally celebrated on 23 April, combines elements of Valentine's Day and World Book Day, with the customary exchange of books and roses.

The Cultural Week concludes on 26 April, inviting residents and visitors to participate in the final events and experience the rich cultural offerings of the Alt Empordà region.
