Peralada, in Empordà, has confirmed that Àlex Marsal will continue as head coach of its first team for the 2026-27 season. The renewal keeps him in place for a fourth year in charge of the senior side and a fifth season overall at the club.
Marsal joined Peralada in the summer of 2022 as assistant coach before taking over the first team the following year. The club said the decision reflects his work last season and its focus on continuity, hard work and the competitive identity he has built with the squad.
Speaking to Diari de Girona, Marsal said he feels comfortable at the club and is working to help it grow while supporting young talent. That alignment with the sporting project has been a key part of the agreement.
Peralada’s main aim remains to secure its place in the Third Division, where staying up is a demanding task. Marsal said the objective was survival and that the team achieved it, adding that only a few sides in the league are not fighting to confirm their status.
Last season, Peralada finished nine points short of the promotion play-off places and 13 points clear of relegation. Marsal said the team can aim higher, but only through steady work day by day, and he pointed to the call-ups of several players to the Catalan Amateur Selection as a sign that the club is doing things well.
The renewal underlines Peralada’s wish to keep building a stable project around Marsal, with a clear emphasis on local development and long-term progress. For more Catalonia football updates, see our news coverage.
