Fundació Impulsa has started the 2026–2027 academic year by bringing together 246 young people receiving its scholarships and support programme at meetings in Girona, Vic and Terrassa. For the 64 participants from the five Girona-area counties of Gironès, la Selva, Baix Empordà, la Garrotxa and Pla de l’Estany, the programme provides financial support, a computer and tailored guidance while they complete vocational training.

The foundation supports young people facing social and financial vulnerability to study vocational training courses and move into work. It arranged coaches to help participants travel to the three opening sessions.

More individual support plans for 2026–2027

Each participant will have a more personalised plan this academic year, agreed with their designated support professional and adapted to their circumstances and needs.

The Impulsa Method combines a scholarship and computer with technical and educational support, mentoring, training and employment-focused activities. These include company visits and meetings with professionals.

Participants also commit to continuing their studies, attending activities and monitoring their own training progress.

Meetings, mentoring and a new digital portal

The foundation will hold three territorial meetings during the academic year: the opening session, a February session involving mentors, and a final meeting. Online training will run alongside them.

Young people beginning a new mentoring relationship will meet their mentors between October and November. Fundació Impulsa is also introducing a digital portal where participants will be able to consult documents, access training and follow their mentoring and individual plans, including material on entering the labour market.

The opening events included Mundial Impulsa, where teams built and customised cardboard table-football games. The finished games will later be given to the collaborating firms BeFred, Posimad, Woodys, Dibosch, Construccions Calaf and Cal Blai.

During the activity, participants identified personal values, considered skills they already have and want to develop, and created a professional avatar based on the job or future career they envisage.
