Six people, including Argentinian streamer Gaspar Prim Díaz, known as Gaspi, and American singer Oliver Tree, died in a helicopter accident in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning. Music video director Lucas Vignale and Brazilian Lucas Brito Chaves were also among the victims.

The collision happened at 8:59am local time (1:59pm Spanish peninsular time) when two aircraft, one carrying five people and the other with only the pilot, crashed in mid-air. One helicopter caught fire after falling into a private car park. The flames destroyed about 20 electric cars parked in the area before firefighters controlled the blaze, according to officials.

Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere stated that both pilots were "very experienced" and worked as aviation instructors. The Brazilian Air Force's Aeronautical Accidents Investigation and Prevention Centre (Cenipa) is investigating the causes of the accident.

Gaspi's Online Presence

Gaspi, a 23-year-old Argentinian streamer, gained popularity for his distinctive humour. Much of his fame came from 'street harassment' videos, where he conducted informal interviews and played pranks on pedestrians to create awkward situations. He recently filmed one such video with Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos, who also invited him to participate in La Velada del Año 5 in Seville. Gaspi fought against Perxitaa in the event, losing the belt after a strong combat. He had also appeared on the podcast of Manresa-based youtuber Jordi Wild.

Oliver Tree's International Tour

Oliver Tree Nickell, the 32-year-old artist, was listed on the flight manifest of one of the aircraft. He was travelling in Brazil as part of an international tour. The singer, known for hits like "Life Goes On" and "Miss You", had performed a large concert in São Paulo a week earlier. He had planned to cross the Atlantic to start the European leg of his tour, with two concerts scheduled in Madrid and Barcelona.

Oliver Tree, who has over 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify, had posted a video on his Instagram account this weekend with Rio de Janeiro influencer Thiago Alcântara. In the video, he wore a Brazil shirt with his name printed on the back. The investigation into the collision continues, with further details expected from Cenipa.
