Vila-sana’s women’s roller hockey team from Pla d’Urgell, Lleida, has reached the OK Liga final for the first time in the club’s history. The side beat Palau 2-1 in the second match of their semi-final series on 30 May 2026.
The result completed a strong tie for Lluís Rodero’s team, after they had won the first match 5-1. This time, the game was tighter, but Vila-sana still found the key moments when it mattered most.
Vila-sana started well and took the lead through Salvanyà, who scored against her former team. Palau levelled soon after when Puigdueta’s pass from behind the goal deflected off Gaete and went in.
Bea Gaete then settled the match just before half-time. After Palau goalkeeper Laura Vicente fouled Florenza, Gaete’s penalty hit the post, but she reacted first to the rebound and made it 1-2.
After the break, Vila-sana controlled the pace and gave Palau few clear chances. The home side had a late opportunity to extend the lead, but Florenza missed a direct shot in the final minute. Even so, the result was enough to end Vila-sana’s run of three straight semi-final exits and send them into the final.
The club will now prepare for the title match, with the chance to win its first OK Liga crown. For more Catalonia sports coverage, see our news page.
