Two Municipal Plots to Be Tendered
The full council of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant approved on 23 September the process to entrust Catalonia's Housing Agency (Agència de l'Habitatge de Catalunya) with managing a public competition to select developers for two municipal plots designated for protected housing. The decision, supported unanimously by all municipal political groups, forms part of the regional government's Pla 50.000 habitatges, which reserves public land for affordable housing. One site is located at Carrer de la Font, 4, in Vandellòs, where up to two protected homes are planned. The second is at Carrer Major, 25, in l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, with capacity for up to five units.
The assignment does not guarantee construction, as the plots will be subject to public tender and a developer must be selected through competition.
If no promoter is awarded the site within two years, a new agreement will need to be processed. Should a developer fail to finalise the transfer after selection, the land will revert to the municipality. Should construction proceed, the council will grant the Housing Agency a 75-year surface right, during which the agency will oversee compliance with conditions and the management of the homes.
Bomber Park Regularisation Approved
The council also unanimously approved the property regularisation of the current firefighter station (parc de bombers) in l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, located on Avinguda de Ramon Berenguer IV, 3. This will be formalised through a direct concession to the Generalitat de Catalunya, as it is a public administration. The concession will remain valid for more than four years, or until the new fire station becomes operational. The council adopted the administrative clauses governing this concession, which will now undergo a 30-day public consultation period.

All groups backed motions to declare the municipality anti-fascist and to prepare for Spain’s State Housing Plan.
Julen Carbajo Areitiobiritxinaga took office as councillor for Més Municipi-Compromís Municipal (MM-CM), replacing Francisco Javier Ochoa following his resignation. The council also approved, by unanimous vote, a motion from CUP-AMUNT to declare Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant an anti-fascist municipality committed to coexistence in diversity. Similarly, a motion from PSC-CP passed unanimously, requiring the council to prepare for the implementation of Spain’s State Housing Plan (Plan estatal de vivienda).
