Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant is set to ratify the first agreement with Adif for a new 19.4 km green way in Tarragona. The route will link Vandellòs with Cambrils and Mont-roig del Camp.

The local council will approve the lease at a municipal plenary session this Thursday. The move follows several years of talks between the three councils and Adif, the Spanish railway infrastructure manager.

The deal covers the former railway line land, which Adif will lease for 20 years, with an option to extend for another 10 years. The plan is to turn the disused track into a path for walking and cycling.

Once complete, the green way is expected to improve local connections and add a new outdoor route along the coast. Cambrils and Mont-roig del Camp are expected to finalise their own agreements with Adif later, which would complete the full stretch.
