The Valls Municipal Sports Board launched its annual Nordic walking programme on 8 February, with approximately 20 people taking part in the first route near Tarragona. This activity aims to promote healthy physical exercise, contact with nature, and local knowledge.
The group explored some of Tarragona's most iconic heritage sites. The itinerary focused on the city's surroundings, leading participants to the Pont del Diable, also known as the Ferreres Aqueduct. This Roman structure, built between the 5th and 4th centuries BC, is one of the most monumental and well-preserved of its era, and the most important in Catalonia. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000.
Participants completed a route of about 10 kilometres in approximately three hours. The activity took place in a pleasant atmosphere, helped by good weather conditions, which made the day more enjoyable, according to officials.
