Valls will hold its Children's Carnival parade on Friday, 28 February, organised by the Valls Civic Centre. The Consell del Rebombori, a group of mischievous characters, has once again banished Their Majesties Carnestoltes and taken charge of the Children's Carnival, proclaiming a "Revolution of the Party" where fun is the supreme law.

The parade will start at 6pm from Plaça del Torrent del Titit. It will follow the same route as last year, passing through Carrer Xiquets de Valls, Passeig de l'Estació, Anselm Clavé, Font de la Manxa, Jaume Huguet, el Pati, and la Cort, before finishing at Plaça del Blat around 6:45pm.

Quiet Street for Accessibility

During its passage along Carrer Anselm Clavé, specifically between Passeig de l'Estació and Carrer Avenir, the children's parade will feature a "Quiet Street". Here, decibel levels and lights will be reduced to accommodate individuals with functional diversity who need to avoid strong sound and light impacts to enjoy and participate in the celebration. This initiative aims to ensure everyone feels included in the popular festival, according to the council.

At Plaça del Blat, the Consell del Rebombori will officially introduce itself to the city and launch the "Revolution of the Party". The square will be filled with music, dancing, and joy, leading to the Costume Contest, open to children aged 0 to 14.

Costume Contest Details

Registrations for the costume contest must be completed online between 5 and 27 February, until 2pm, via the City Council's website. Only self-made costumes will be accepted. The Consell del Rebombori will judge the costumes during the parade and announce the winners at the end of the route in Plaça del Blat. Full rules for the Children's Carnival Costume Contest are available for consultation.

This year's contest will award prizes in two individual categories: 'most surprising costume' and 'most fun costume'. There will also be a group category for teams of 10 to 30 people. Groups can share a costume theme and perform their own choreography. Prizes are sponsored by PortAventura Park and Salting de Reus, allowing winners to enjoy their awards with family and friends.
