Seventy people attended the first Up Day at Lleida City Council's Espai d’Innovació del Comerç, a retail innovation centre in the Casino building, according to the Ajuntament de Lleida. The event gave local shop and service-business owners demonstrations and practical examples of digital tools, from online sales systems to artificial intelligence, that can be used in day-to-day trading.
The Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda de Catalunya (CCAM), the Generalitat body supporting retail, crafts and fashion businesses, organised the event with the councils of Lleida, Mataró and Tarragona. Lleida's Deputy Mayor for City Promotion, Pilar Bosch, opened the session alongside Marta Angerri, the Generalitat's Director General for Trade.
“The assessment of the first Up Day is very positive,” Bosch said, citing satisfaction among participating businesses and attendees.
Participants visited the technology stations at the Casino building, where the council says businesses can learn about innovations designed to strengthen shops' competitiveness. Companies also had space to present their services directly to retailers.
Digital tools demonstrated for local businesses
The programme, titled The Commerce of Tomorrow, Today, included presentations on retail uses of augmented reality, artificial intelligence, e-commerce and business management systems.
- INVELON business developer Marc Santamaria demonstrated how augmented reality and artificial intelligence can turn a shop window, label or product into an interactive customer experience.
- Innitia chief executive Arnau Bresolí discussed online sales, websites designed to generate sales, and links between e-commerce, stock and logistics management, and invoicing.
- Automauticos representative Joan Serra presented an artificial-intelligence exercise intended to show how a potential customer finds and assesses a business online.
Attendees were also able to meet Invelon's Unitree G1 humanoid robot. The company describes it as combining artificial intelligence, mobility and the capacity to interact with people.
Lleida firms share examples
Fusteria Ebenisteria JesúsMora presented its use of 3D design, virtual reality and 3D printing in production. Tu i Tu described customer-experience work within its digitalisation programme, while Lleida brand Shotest discussed growth through digital tools and online selling.
A final panel brought together Nubulus, Midgard IT and CoCo Trainers to discuss process digitalisation, the introduction of artificial-intelligence tools, links between management systems and the role of staff in technological change.
