Towns such as Mas de Barberans, Horta de Sant Joan, Tivenys, and L'Ampolla will host events, according to local reports.
Mas de Barberans will hold its Major Festivals from 24 April to 2 May, featuring parades, processions, traditional games, and popular meals. The programme also includes bull exhibitions in a portable bullring and musical performances by orchestras like Welcome Band, Mediterrània, and Atalaia.
Horta de Sant Joan's April Festivals, running from 24 to 26 April, will start with a 'guinyot' tournament and children's snack. Other activities include a procession to the Sant Salvador Convent, a paella competition, and football matches. The weekend will conclude with a quick painting competition and a children's transhumance event.
Italian Culture and Rice Celebrations
Tivenys will host the 5th edition of FirArrels from 24 to 26 April, with this year's theme focusing on Italy. The event will open with the Consulate of Italy in Barcelona and feature exhibitions, gastronomic demonstrations, musical acts, and a Venetian party. The programme also includes talks, showcookings, popular games, workshops, and a classic motorbike gathering, ending with a performance by the Gruppo Sbandieratori di Arezzo.
L'Aldea's Rice and Trade Fair celebrates its 20th anniversary on 25 and 26 April. This fair combines tradition, gastronomy, and culture, offering gastronomic demonstrations with rice as the main ingredient, tastings, and a market for local products. Music will also be a key attraction, with concerts, tribute acts, and DJ sessions.
Film, Wine, and Food Trucks
L'Ampolla will host the Frame Film Festival on 24 and 25 April at the Enharmonia Music School's cultural hall. This travelling short film festival will screen a selection of high-quality national short films. Attendees can vote for their favourite works, which will then advance to the final stage of the competition for the FRAME Talent Awards.
Gandesa will host the 4th edition of Primavera DO Terra Alta, an enogastronomic and cultural festival, from 23 to 25 April. Activities include 'Vespreig & vi' with DJ Gem's, a wine exhibition with live music from RAC 105, and concerts featuring Caipirinyes and The Tyets. From 20 April to 16 May, the 'Tastos de paisatge DO Terra Alta' cycle will offer tastings in emblematic locations.
Amposta's 9th Foodtrucks Festival will take place on 25 and 26 April at Parc dels Xiribecs. Sixteen food trucks will offer a wide variety of culinary options. The event also includes a craft beer and wine tasting area, a classic car and Harley Davidson motorbike exhibition, and the Crafty Day, which features stalls selling artisanal products to support local trade.
Traditional Festivities and Swing
Corbera d'Ebre will celebrate the XXXV Sant Marc Festival on 25 April in the Rocall neighbourhood. The day will start with a solidarity 'vermut' for the Cancer League, followed by a mass at the Santa Madrona hermitage. A traditional 'cagada del cavall' event will take place at 12pm, and attendees can vote for this year's 'pubilla' and 'hereu' (traditional festival representatives). The day will end with a popular lunch and an afternoon party with music.
Ulldecona will host the 4th Swing Day on 26 April at the Ermita de la Pietat. The programme, running from 12pm to 7pm, includes a Swing-Vermout with live music from Walking Bounce Swing, lunch, a Jam Tardeo, and stretching sessions before the closing act.
Alcanar is launching 'En Ruta pel Rocall' on 24 April, a cultural initiative that combines art, literature, gastronomy, and heritage. This project aims to revitalise the Rocall neighbourhood, one of the municipality's most distinctive areas.
