BARCELONA: A strike involving teaching and administrative staff in public centres and the Education Department in Catalonia's Maresme-Vallès Oriental and Vallès Occidental regions saw a 13.97% turnout by 1pm today, according to the Catalan Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
The department reported that 76.7% of the workplaces with staff called to strike had communicated their participation data. This figure covers staff in public schools and the Ministry itself, including educational services, territorial and central services, among others.
Strike Participation Details
The strike call extended to various groups. These included teachers and other staff in public schools, as well as employees within the Ministry's different branches. However, the Ministry does not hold data for all groups involved. This includes staff from other types of ownership, cleaning personnel, kitchen staff, and monitors.
The Ministry's figures offer a snapshot of the industrial action's impact across these key Catalan regions. Further updates on participation rates are expected as the day progresses and more data becomes available.
