Clàudia Martín, an 18-year-old from Tarragona with Down syndrome, is starring in a new global campaign for By Farah Cosmetics. She features alongside four other young women, selected for their diversity and authenticity.

Farah Alhady, the Kuwaiti former actress and owner of the cosmetics brand, chose profiles that move away from traditional beauty standards. Her aim was to show a wider, more realistic representation of society, according to the brand.

Clàudia was chosen after a casting directed by Sara Mauri. She took part in a photoshoot and video recording in Barcelona. Down Tarragona, an association, said Clàudia loves the world of imagery and particularly enjoyed the make-up, hair, and wardrobe sessions, as well as filming the promotional video for the new products.

Campaign Launch and Impact

The campaign launched internationally on 20 May via Instagram and TikTok. The brand and its founder have thousands of followers on these platforms. During the shoot, Clàudia won over the artistic team and Farah Alhady herself with her friendly nature and positive attitude.

Despite a language barrier, as the entire team communicated in English, Clàudia handled herself naturally through her expressiveness. It was her first professional photoshoot, but the photographer did not need to repeat any of the planned poses for the report.

Clàudia's Active Life

This experience has given Clàudia her first salary. She also maintains a busy schedule in other areas. She studies at the Estela Special Education School and is part of Down Tarragona's leisure group. She also practises karate at Sinhus Esport Tarragona, goes swimming, and participates in the Children's Drum Group at the Centre Joventut de Perafort.

Clàudia loves music, especially Catalan rumba. She has become an example of participation and inclusion. Down Tarragona celebrated the brand's initiative, highlighting the importance of showing reality in all its diversity and demonstrating that there is no single model of beauty.
