More than 300 primary school pupils from 14 educational centres across Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l’Ebre and Baix Penedès have completed the Diputació de Tarragona programme to promote entrepreneurship and cooperativism in schools. The closing ceremony for the fourth edition took place on 4 June 2026 at the Boca de la Mina Innovation and Training Centre in Reus.

The programme is supported by Ateneu Cooperatiu Terres de l’Ebre, Coopcamp and Coopsetània. It focused on the social, circular and sustainable economy, with pupils presenting the cooperatives they created at school as part of the project.

Examples of the activities included making wooden products, soaps and mobile phone stands, as well as organising second-hand markets and running activity workshops. The pupils developed and managed their cooperatives with support from the educational community, local administrations, cooperative centres, other local organisations and the Diputació de Tarragona.

Teachers and municipal technical staff also took part in a 30-hour preparatory training phase. During the closing ceremony, the participating schools received recognition for their involvement in the project.

The initiative began in 2023 with three schools and has grown to 14 this year. Participating centres included Escola Parellada in Santa Oliva, Escola Pau Casals in El Vendrell, Escola Santa Creu in Calafell, Escola Jaume Balmes in Santa Bàrbara, Escola Maria Jesús Martí i Abella in La Sénia, Escola Candela in Valls, Escola Cor de Roure in Santa Coloma de Queralt, Escola Ramón y Cajal in Ulldecona, Escola Marjal in Les Cases d’Alcanar, Escola 16 de Febrer in Els Muntells, Escola Les Cometes in Llorenç del Penedès, Escola Sant Isidre in Capçanes, Escola Sant Salvador in Godall and Escola Cèlia Artiga in Reus.
