Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated a pre-alert for the Inuncat plan, warning of strong thunderstorms expected across northern Catalonia this Sunday afternoon. The downpours could bring over 20 litres of rain in just half an hour to a dozen counties in the Alt Pirineu i Aran, Central Catalonia, and Girona regions.

The specific counties under this warning include Alta Ribagorça, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Alt Urgell, Cerdanya, Solsonès, Berguedà, Osona, Lluçanès, Ripollès, Garrotxa, and Selva.

Weather Alert Details

According to the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, the yellow level alert starts at 14:00 this Sunday. It will remain in place until 20:00 on Monday, at which point it will also include the Val d'Aran in the alert for intense rainfall.

From midday until the evening, the rain may fall with intensity and could be accompanied locally by hail or hailstones. Civil Protection advises caution for drivers and anyone planning outdoor activities during this period.
