Around 450 primary school children from across the Solsonès region participated in the 10th annual Solsonès Sports Fair in Solsona, enjoying a morning of diverse physical activities. The event, held on 25 April 2026, was organised jointly by the Solsonès Sports Council, the Physical Education Teachers' Seminar, and Solsona City Council's Educational Environment Plan.
The fair's organisers said that the successful programme relied on the help of numerous local sports entities, clubs, centres, schools, groups, and educational centre facilitators. Without their collective effort, it would be impossible to coordinate activities for so many children from the region's primary schools.
Activities were tailored to different age groups, ensuring a varied experience for all participants. Second-grade pupils engaged in alternative games held in Solsona's squares. These games were led by students from IE Vall de Lord, Club Bitlles Olius, and Institut Francesc Ribalta.
Outdoor Adventures for Middle Cycle Pupils
Fourth-grade students took part in outdoor and natural environment activities, including orientation, cross-training, treasure hunts, and leisure games. These were held in the Parc de la Mina and Parc de la Mare de la Font sports areas, which the children reached after a walk through the Castellvell area. ETFEM, Espaigua, Institut Francesc Ribalta, and Cardonaevents collaborated to make these activities possible.
Sixth-grade pupils enjoyed sports games at Solsona's municipal sports facilities. These sessions were run by students from Institut Francesc Ribalta, AE Lach, Club Futbol Solsona, and Club Taekwondo Solsona.
Participating schools included Escola Arrels, Escola Setelsis, Escola Vinyet, Institut Escola Vall de Lord, Escola Sant Gil de Torà, and ZER El Solsonès. The continued success of the Solsonès Sports Fair highlights the community's commitment to promoting healthy and active lifestyles among its youngest residents.
