Culture Minister Sònia Hernández visited Solsona on Saturday to promote the government's action plan, detailing specific projects for the Solsonès region. The visit was part of a wider initiative to explain the government's actions and their deployment to citizens across Catalonia.
The informative 'info truck' was positioned on Passeig de Sant Antoni Maria Claret, distributing materials about the Executive's main activities in Solsonès. This included specific and notable projects for the area, according to officials.
Key Regional Initiatives
Minister Hernández highlighted the 'Solsonianes' project, a pilot programme within the Culture and Education Programme. Hernández stated that "Solsonianes is based on the idea that the cultural heritage of the region can become an educational tool, contributing to generating new learning contexts."
Other measures planned for the Solsonès region include significant investments in mobility, infrastructure, and local development. This involves improving safety and connectivity between Solsonès and Berguedà, with work on the C-26 and B-420 roads. This project represents an investment of €70 million.
In social equity, €8.6 million is allocated for urban improvement projects in Solsona's old town and its immediate surroundings. This funding comes under the Catalonia Neighbourhoods and Towns Plan 2025-2029. For the primary sector and housing, the government is funding the Forest Mitigation and Climate Change Adaptation Project. This project aims to boost professionalisation in the forestry sector in Vall de Lord, improve biodiversity, reduce fire risk, and increase water reaching aquifers and reservoirs.
The Government Plan Explained
The Government Plan for the 15th Legislature seeks to drive Catalonia's third major transformation. It focuses on five main priorities, 35 specific objectives, and 260 priority measures. These are guided by the values of uniting for progress and serving to transform.
The priorities include shared prosperity based on knowledge to improve quality of life and access to housing, alongside an energy, environmental, and green transition. Social equity, equality, feminism, and welfare are also key. The plan also addresses good governance, security, and better public services, as well as effective self-government and unique financing.
The 'info truck' will continue its tour, visiting all regional capitals in Catalonia to ensure broad public awareness of these governmental initiatives.
