Barcelona’s SIL logistics exhibition is changing its name and moving to Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The event will now be called the Logistics Innovation Exhibition, a shift announced by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB).
The CZFB says the change marks a new phase for an event that began in 1998. Pere Navarro, president of SIL, described the move as a “qualitative and quantitative change”, while Blanca Sorigué, general director of the CZFB, said the aim is to make SIL a place where logistics shows its “transformative role”.
Organisers say the rebrand reflects the sector’s changing needs. The new format is expected to offer a more practical and experiential visit, while still keeping the business focus that has made the exhibition a major meeting point for professionals.
The next edition will take place at Fira Gran Via, where SIL previously held three editions two decades ago. The final edition at Fira Montjuïc ended this Friday, with the CZFB reporting 15,423 professional visitors from 87 countries.
According to the CZFB, the event also brought together 600 participating companies, 30% of them international. It recorded 7,622 digital contact exchanges and 2,976 meeting requests during the three-day exhibition.
For readers following Catalonia’s business and industry calendar, the change underlines how one of Barcelona’s best-known trade fairs is repositioning itself around logistics innovation. More coverage of local business and events is available on our news page.
