Barcelona’s Magòria district hosted the IV International Sants Petanque Open, bringing 48 teams to the city over a weekend. Organisers said the event has become a key fixture on the continental petanque calendar.
The tournament drew more than 150 players and over 200 spectators. Teams travelled from Murcia, Andalusia, Catalonia, France, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden and Romania.
The competition stayed close throughout, with matches decided late and several of Europe’s leading petanque players taking part. The final was contested at a high level until the end.
The winning team was made up of Miguel Moreno, Jordi Martínez and Ángel Heras, a Catalan-Andalusian combination. They beat Barcelona side CP la Palmera in the final.
