Santa Coloma de Farners is set to host the 17th Ratafia Herb Market this weekend, 2 and 3 May, with a programme centred on wild plant culture. The event will feature talks, ethnobotanical excursions, gastronomic proposals, and family activities, according to Diari de Girona.
The market, held in Plaça de la Vila, will bring together many local producers of ratafia and other herbal liqueurs. Artisans and local product vendors will also participate. Workshops are planned to teach visitors how to make ratafia and other creations using aromatic herbs.
Exploring Wild Herbs
Ethnobotanical walks will allow attendees to discover the native flora of the Selva region. Participants can learn about the medicinal and culinary properties of these plants. The market will also offer a gastronomic area with tastings of dishes made with wild herbs and local produce.
Family activities, such as traditional games and storytelling, will complete the market's offerings, making it a suitable event for all ages. The Ratafia Herb Market provides an opportunity to explore and taste local products, learn about wild plant culture, and enjoy a weekend full of activities for everyone.
