Barcelona’s Sant Martí district will host an International Play Day event this Friday, 5 June, at Sant Martí Park, according to the Ajuntament de Barcelona.

The city council is organising the activity to highlight the importance of play for people of all ages and to encourage community participation in a public green space.

Families and individuals are invited to take part, with the event aimed at supporting well-being and social connection through recreational activities. It is also intended to give neighbours a chance to meet and share time outdoors.

International Play Day is observed globally to recognise the right to play and its role in development and daily life. Barcelona’s event brings that message into a local setting in Sant Martí.

The Ajuntament de Barcelona regularly supports initiatives that use public spaces for community activity. For more on city news and local updates, see our news coverage and the Barcelona news tag page.
