Sant Cugat del Vallès has added a new SEAT and CUPRA dealership on Rubí road, strengthening the city’s role in electric mobility and automotive innovation in Catalonia.
The new facilities are run by Ondinauto, the official SEAT and CUPRA dealer for the Yomovo automotive group. The inauguration was hosted by journalist Laia Ferrer and included a discussion on the shift towards electric vehicles for more sustainable and efficient mobility.
Racing driver Jordi Gené and electric mobility consultant Ferran Menescal took part in the event, where the fully electric CUPRA Raval was presented. Violinist Astrid Torrente also performed during the launch.
Albert Salarich, councillor for Business, Innovation and Internationalisation, said it was good news for the city that people were starting new ventures, as they help Sant Cugat evolve. He said the new space will offer more attention and service, with renewed models, and will support electric mobility and decarbonisation.
Salarich also said Sant Cugat wants to back innovation and do things differently, in line with CUPRA’s approach. Joan Anton Campmany, SEAT and CUPRA manager for the Yomovo group, and Víctor Sarasola, commercial director of CUPRA Spain, said CUPRA aims to lead the electrification of the automotive sector.
They said the key to making electric cars more popular is for customers to try them, adding that once people drive one, they often do not want to return to combustion engines. Around 400 people attended the presentation, including clients, brand representatives, political figures and local institutions. For more Catalonia business and mobility coverage, see our news tag.
