Barcelona was in the spotlight on Monday, 25 May, after Catalan president Salvador Illa shared a selfie with Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny during a visit to the Sagrada Família.

Illa posted the image on Instagram and thanked the artist for choosing Barcelona to begin the European leg of his DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS tour. According to sources from the Catalan government, Bad Bunny wanted to see the basilica before leaving the city.

The singer performed two concerts at Barcelona’s Estadi Olímpic, with songs from his latest album and earlier releases. The visit drew strong attention in the city, especially among his large fanbase.

The Sagrada Família is one of Barcelona’s best-known landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It remains a major draw for visitors and a regular stop for international figures passing through Catalonia.

Illa’s post also fits a wider pattern of public engagement with cultural figures visiting the region. For more Catalonia coverage, see our news page.
