Sabadell is at the centre of a police investigation after one person was shot in the leg in the city’s Can Puiggener neighbourhood on Thursday night, 21 May. The incident happened at number 9, Carrer de Joan Balart, according to initial reports.

Mossos d’Esquadra are treating the case as a firearms incident and have opened an investigation to establish what happened and who was involved. More Catalonia news

According to sources cited by Metrópoli, the shooting may be linked to a dispute between two Roma family clans in the city. Those same reports say shots were exchanged from inside two vehicles.

One of the cars, a blue Citroën Berlingo, is reported to have left the scene. Police have not publicly confirmed the motive or the details of the vehicles involved.

The Sabadell case comes after another shooting in Viladecans on 20 May, which caused alarm on Avinguda del Mil·lenari. Investigations into that incident suggest it may have been a targeted attack against a person on the terrace of La Luna bar.

No arrests have been made in the Viladecans case, and no injuries have been confirmed. Mossos d’Esquadra are also handling that investigation.
