Roses, in Girona province, will take part in the fifth Alt Empordà Youth Gathering on 23 July, joining a regional event that brings together young people from across the area for a day of activities and social time.

The gathering is being organised through the youth services of Roses, Castelló d'Empúries, L'Escala, Figueres and Llançà. Organisers expect nearly 500 young people to attend, with music, sport and other activities planned to encourage contact between municipalities and support youth participation at regional level.

Roses will send 110 young people from its Estiu Jove summer centre. The town's Youth Department runs the centre each year as a space for leisure and social activities during the summer months.

This year, demand for Estiu Jove was high, so the number of places was increased by 30 compared with previous years. That allowed all applications received to be accepted.

The event reflects ongoing cooperation between towns in Alt Empordà to create shared spaces for young residents. For more local coverage, see our news page.
