A railway infrastructure problem between Arc de Triomf and El Clot-Aragó stations caused significant disruption to Rodalies R1 and R4 lines in Barcelona on Sunday, according to the rail operator. The issue forced the diversion of several trains and left some central Barcelona stations without service, creating complications for passengers for much of the day.

For the R1 line, trains heading to L'Hospitalet de Llobregat were diverted via Passeig de Gràcia. These services did not stop at Plaça Catalunya and Arc de Triomf stations.

R4 Line Modifications

The R4 line also saw major changes to its route. Trains travelling towards Sant Vicenç de Calders were diverted and did not stop at Torre Baró, Fabra i Puig, La Sagrera, Arc de Triomf, or Plaça Catalunya. Additionally, R4 trains operating between Vilafranca del Penedès and Manresa started and ended their journeys at L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

To help maintain passenger mobility, a special shuttle train service was set up between Terrassa and Fabra i Puig. Officials have not yet provided a timeline for when normal service is expected to resume on the affected lines.
