Reus, Catalonia, is the focus of a new vocational training agreement between the Baix Camp Institute and the local retailers’ association El Tomb de Reus. The two organisations have signed a deal to add a fashion and accessories specialisation to the intermediate-level Commercial Activities cycle.

The programme is designed to respond to a clear need in the retail sector. A representative of El Tomb de Reus said there is demand for staff who “know the product and can convey it to the final client”.

The specialisation is intended to give students practical skills linked to fashion retail, including product knowledge and customer contact. That approach is meant to prepare learners for work in shops and other local businesses connected to the sector.

The agreement also reflects a wider pattern in vocational education, where schools and employers work together to shape training around local labour needs. In this case, the Baix Camp Institute is extending its offer in Reus to better match the requirements of nearby retailers.
