Reus, in Baix Camp, is set to gain a new fashion and accessories specialisation at Institut Baix Camp, after the school agreed a partnership with the local traders' association, El Tomb de Reus.
The specialisation will form part of the existing intermediate vocational training cycle for Commercial Activities. It is intended to respond to a need in the retail sector for staff with specific knowledge of fashion products.
According to the school and the association, the aim is to give students the skills to explain product details clearly to customers. The programme will focus on product knowledge, customer service and sales techniques linked to clothing and accessories.
El Tomb de Reus, which represents many local shops, has backed the initiative as a way to bring vocational training closer to the needs of the local market. The association says staff who understand the product and can explain it to the final client are important for business success.
Institut Baix Camp has not yet announced enrolment details or the full curriculum. For more Catalonia-wide education and local business coverage, see our news page.
