Girona City Council has again ruled out the immediate opening of a new concert hall at number 2, Emili Grahit Street. The promoters had planned to open the venue in early September.
Lluís Martí, the councillor for Proximity Urban Planning, said on Thursday that the opening would “not happen at all”. He said the licence application is still “in processing” and “does not meet the requirements it should meet”.
The decision delays a cultural project that was intended to add to Girona’s live music offer. The council did not say which specific requirements had not been met.
The promoters will now need to address the issues in the application before the project can move forward. That may mean changes to the venue design, operating plans, or further paperwork under local rules.
