Reus will host two youth futsal tournaments over the coming weeks, bringing thousands of players, coaches and family members to the Costa Daurada. The events are expected to support local sports tourism across Reus and nearby towns.

The first event is the F5 International Cup, which will take place in Reus and Mont-roig del Camp from 29 to 31 May. It is the third edition of the tournament and is organised by Around Sports BCN, FS5 Navarra and MFCAT, with support from Reus City Council’s Department of Health and Sport.

Thirty teams from Spanish cities including Jaén, Pamplona, Tarragona, Lleida, Logroño, Valencia, Castellón, Barcelona and Santander will take part. Teams from Greece, France and Portugal are also expected. Matches will be played at Reus’s Pavelló Olímpic Municipal, the Alberich i Casas sports hall and Mont-roig Municipal Pavilion. The second event, the seventh ASB Futsal Costa Daurada Cup, will run from 12 to 14 June. It is described as Europe’s largest youth futsal tournament and is expected to bring more than 2,500 participants and their families, with more than 6,000 overnight stays projected across the Costa Daurada.

A total of 134 teams from across Spain, including Catalonia, Madrid, Valencia, the Balearic Islands and Aragon, will compete. International teams from France, England and Andorra are also taking part. More than 300 matches will be played across 22 pitches in Reus, Salou, Cambrils, Tarragona, Riudoms, La Canonja and Mont-roig del Camp.

Reus’s Pavelló Olímpic Municipal will be the main hub for the tournament. This year’s edition also adds Gold and Silver phases after the group stage, a change designed to increase competition in the final rounds.

Enrique Martín, Reus City Council’s councillor for Health and Sport, said the tournaments help reinforce Reus’s position as a sports tourism destination and bring a positive return for local economic activity. He also said the council wants to keep working with clubs and organisers to attract competitions that keep sports facilities active throughout the year.
