Rail services on the Rodalies R3 line were cut near Ripoll, in Girona, after a train struck a fallen tree on Thursday night. No injuries were reported.
The interruption affects the single-track section between Manlleu and Ripoll. An alternative bus service is running across the R3 line for passengers affected by the disruption.
The tree fell onto the tracks because of heavy rain. For official rail service updates, passengers can check Rodalies de Catalunya.
Protecció Civil said on Thursday night that the River Ter had exceeded danger levels in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, also in the Ripollès region. It also issued a hydrological risk warning for the Ter basin, with alert levels surpassed in Ripoll.
By Friday morning, Protecció Civil said those warnings were being closed, with no significant incidents reported at that time. The heavy rainfall also affected the Primavera Sound festival, which cancelled or rescheduled major concerts on its opening day.
