Police in Puigcerdà, in Girona province, carried out a Kanpai operation on Friday that led to two arrests, 237 identifications and 21 official reports, according to local authorities.
One person was arrested for an immigration law violation, while another was detained for breaching a court order. Officials said the people identified had 119 prior police records between them, with three individuals accounting for 45 of those records.
The operation focused on the Santa Maria square area and was aimed at improving public safety and addressing different infractions in the town. For more local coverage across Catalonia, see our news page.
Officers also inspected six local businesses in Puigcerdà. They issued several reports for breaches linked to public shows and recreational activities, as part of routine checks on compliance with local rules.
Mobility controls were also part of the operation. Police seized an electric scooter because of irregularities, while four drivers tested positive for administrative offences during a control and six traffic violations were reported.
