A person died on Saturday night after being hit by a Rodalies train in Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the Barcelona area, according to Protecció Civil de la Generalitat. The incident led to an immediate suspension of train services in the area.

The accident forced the closure of the R4 and R7 lines between Montcada and Sabadell Sud. Services were affected across part of the Barcelona metropolitan rail network, causing delays for passengers travelling through the area.

Protecció Civil deactivated the Ferrocat pre-alert at around 23:30 on Saturday night, after services were partially restored. Trains then ran alternately on one track through Cerdanyola.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. For official rail service information, see Rodalies de Catalunya and Protecció Civil de la Generalitat.
