A person died after being electrocuted on the train tracks near Castellbisbal Rodalies station in Barcelona early on Friday morning, at approximately 4am.
Catalan police sources told Europa Press that a police investigation has started to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The incident caused disruption to train services. The Rodalies R4 line between Martorell and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, both in Barcelona province, was interrupted. This stoppage, requested by the Mossos d'Esquadra, lasted from 6.27am until 6.54am, according to Renfe, the national rail operator.
Police Investigate Incident
The Mossos d'Esquadra are leading the enquiry into the death. Details regarding the person's identity or how they came to be on the tracks have not yet been released. Further information is expected as the investigation progresses.
