Girona cyclist Pau Rodríguez, from Avinyonet de Puigventós, completed La Traka, one of the toughest gravel cycling events, finishing the race in under 38 hours, according to Diari de Girona.

The race started and ended in Girona and covered 550 kilometres with 9,600 metres of positive elevation gain. Riders passed through Ripollès, Alta Garrotxa and Empordà before returning to the city.

La Traka is designed for expert cyclists, and only half of the 250 participants managed to finish. Rodríguez's result places him among the riders who completed the demanding course.

The event is recognised internationally for its difficulty and for bringing elite gravel cyclists to Girona. Organisers plan to hold it annually.
