Palafrugell, in Girona, will host the 64th Carroussel Costa Brava this Sunday, placing the town at the centre of one of Catalonia’s best-known spring events.

The parade is part of the Spring Festivities and is recognised as a Traditional Festive Element of National Interest. It brings together floats and troupes, and remains a major date in Palafrugell’s annual calendar.

According to local organisers, the event draws residents and visitors each year and reflects the area’s cultural heritage. The parade has kept its traditional character while continuing to grow over more than six decades.

Preparations for this year’s edition have involved local associations and volunteers, who help create the costumes and floats that define the procession. That collective work is a key part of the event’s identity.
